Indication:

Sildenafil is used to treat male sexual function problems (impotence or erectile dysfunction-ED). In combination with sexual stimulation, sildenafil works by increasing blood flow to the penis to help a man get and keep an erection. This drug does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases (such as HIV, hepatitis B, gonorrhea, and syphilis.

Direction:

To treat erectile dysfunction-ED, take this drug by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually as needed. Take sildenafil at least 30 minutes, but no more than 4 hours, before sexual activity (1 hour before is the most effective). Do not take more than once daily.

The usual starting dose is 50mg.

The dosage is based on your medical condition, response to treatment, and other medications you may be taking.

Side effects:

dizziness, headache, flushing, or stomach upset may occur.

The first of a number of studies on the effectiveness of viagra has been published this year in theJournal of Sexual Medicine, an English language journal. The researchers looked at 1,000 men who took sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra, for a year and a half to see if it was more effective than placebo.

One of the findings was that men who took Viagra had a more than twice as many times as many erections as men who took placebo.
